Hannah Churton is a PhD candidate at the Queensland University of Technology’s School of Law and Centre for Justice. Her research focuses on the valorisation of horticultural ‘wastes’, examining how Australia can optimize policy frameworks to both drive industry growth for value-added products and support the national goal of halving food waste by 2030. Taking a systems approach, Hannah explores the broader food system, integrating economic, social, and environmental considerations that contribute to positive triple bottom line outcomes. Her work contributes to sustainable food policy development and the circular economy, bridging research with real-world impact.
