Dr Graham Gardner

Graham is a Professor in Biochemistry and director of the Centre for Animal Production and Health at Murdoch University. Graham’s research is predominantly focused on the impact of selection for growth, leanness and eating quality within the sheep, pork, and beef industries. These impacts include aspects of carbohydrate and intermediary metabolism, stress sensitivity, growth, and maturity, as well as the metabolic changes that take place in muscle. In recent years his work has been focused upon the development of measurement technologies for determining lean meat yield and eating quality through his role as leader of the national Advanced Livestock Measurement Technologies (ALMTech) project between 2016 – 2023.
